Metallic looking Weevil (Eurhinus magnificus), found in Central and North America. It is brilliantly metal colored and the adult does not quite measure 6mm. The metallic sheen is due to different layers of chitin in the exoskeleton of the beetle, with different refractive indices which enhance brightness and color. It is believed that the metallic sheen serves to camouflage in the forest, resembling raindrops glittering on plants.
